CEIAG – Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance
At Fieldstone School, our CEIAG programme is tailored to prepare every student for life beyond school. We recognise the unique strengths, aspirations and needs of our students and are committed to helping each young person take confident, informed steps towards a fulfilling future.
Our CEIAG programme supports students in all year groups, equipping them eventually with the knowledge, skills and resilience to make well considered decisions about their next steps education, training or employment. Through personalised guidance and a wide range of meaningful experiences, we aim to inspire ambition, promote independence and nurture self-belief.
Our careers programme is built on the principles of equality, empowerment and inclusion. We provide impartial high quality advice and guidance that reflects the abilities, interests and aspirations of each individual student. We work closely with parents, carers, employers and external partners to ensure every student has access to the support and opportunities they need to explore their future with confidence.
Our key aims:
- To foster ambition and aspiration in all learners
- To develop students understanding of the world of work
- To enable students to recognise their skills and potential
- To ensure students make informed decisions about their post-16 journey
Measuring The Impact
We use Compass+ a national careers benchmarking tool, to assess our performance against the Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring our CEIAG provision remains current, robust and effective. Our programme is reviewed termly and updated annually to reflect feedback, outcomes and evolving needs.
Entitlement
All students at Fieldstone School will:
- Engage in a structured careers programme from Year 7 to 11
- Understand different routes into further education, training and employment
- Develop self-awareness and confidence in their skills and abilities
- Gain access to careers information that is up to date, relevant and easy to use
- Take part in meaningful encounters with employers and professionals
- Participate in work related learning, including work experience
- Receive 1-1 personal careers guidance
Parents and carers will:
- Receive regular updates and opportunities relating to careers, events and guidance
- Be invited to meetings with the Careers Lead to discuss future pathways
- Be encouraged to contribute feedback to support ongoing development of our careers programme
Work Experience
All Key Stage 4 students take part in dedicated work experience, giving them the opportunity to explore a career area of interest, in a real world setting. This may take place at any part of the academic year and is planned to suit our students needs and external partners availability.
We welcome offers of placements from local employers across various industries, particularly: heath, animal care, childcare, art, music, education, IT, retail, sports and the public services. Please contact us if you can:
- Deliver a talk or workshop during National Careers Week
- Host a workplace visit
- Offer a work experience placement
