Fieldstone School: A New Name Rooted in Our Community
We’re excited to share some important news with you: School for Inspiring Talents is now Fieldstone School.
This name change reflects a new chapter in our journey while staying true to who we are and the communities we serve. Over time, we recognised that our previous name, while well-intentioned, sometimes led to confusion. We felt the name didn’t accurately represent our role as a dedicated special education provision. Our focus has always been, and remains, supporting pupils with a range of needs, providing a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
The name Fieldstone School was chosen thoughtfully and meaningfully. Fieldstone is the natural stone used to build the walls around both our school sites. It is a strong, resilient material commonly found in the Newton Abbot and Ashburton areas – much like our pupils, who show remarkable strength and resilience every day. The name also reflects our deep roots in the local community and the safe, solid foundation we aim to offer all our learners.
While the name may be new, nothing else has changed. Our values, staff, curriculum, and commitment to each pupil remain exactly the same. We are proud of everything we’ve achieved as School for Inspiring Talents and excited about the future as Fieldstone School.
We understand this change may take a little getting used to, particularly for existing families and partners, but we’re confident it better reflects who we are and helps new families find the support their child needs more easily.
